If you weren't at Canyon Raceway Saturday night you missed an excellent night of exciting, edge of your seat racing, as well as a once in a life time bit of history.

Fourteen year old Chad Boat took the lead from Josh Pelkey on lap 24 and went on to win his first main event with the entire Boat family in attendance.

Mike Martin started 3rd, second row inside and Chad started 4th, second row outside, with Mike Colegrove 7th and Josh Pelkey 8th.

The main battle settled with Pelkey, Colegrove, Martin and High with Chad always in the shadows. Laps 18 thru 22 were hard fought between Pelkey, Colegrove, Martin, Boat with Mike Leslie up from 15th starting to enter the battle. Chad dropped down and found traction on the very bottom to pass several cars and on lap 24 going into turn one Chad got under Pelkey and took the lead and held on for the first main event win of his young racing career.

Chad

A very excited Chad celebrated in victory lane, pumping his fist and acknowledging the cheering crowd. "My car wasn't tight enough to run the top, so I just looked for some traction around the bottom. Once I started to hit the right line around the bottom I was able to drive to the front", Chad said in victory lane. "I want to thank my team and all my sponsors for giving me this opportunity."

With his victory 14 year old Chad becomes the youngest driver in the history of sprint car racing to win a feature event. Canyon Raceway has been a good track for Chad, as it marked his first win in a mini sprint two years ago.
