Even though, it was Friday the 13th, the night started out with a victory for Chad Boat. Tied for the AMSCA points lead with Brandon George, Chad lined up in the 5th position for the start of the 4-lap trophy dash. Chad took the lead on the second lap and held on to win his first trophy dash with the AMSCA.
Chad started Heat Race #1 on the outside of the front row and had the lead at the end of Lap 1. He led the first 3 laps, but lost the lead and finished in the 3rd position, which earned him a transfer spot to the Main Event.

Chad started the 20-lap Main Event on the inside of Row 5. At the end of Lap 1, Dennis Parks was leading and Chad has already moved from his ninth place starting position, into 4th place. It didn’t take Chad long to move into the 3rd position, but he was still a full straight-of-way behind the two lead cars. In three laps, Chad ran down the leaders, and by the halfway point of the race, Chad caught the leaders and passed them for the lead. Chad moved through lapped traffic at a record pace and pulled away to win his second consecutive Main Event.
The track announcer, Windy McDonald, announced that Chad has just broken the longest Mini Sprint record at Manzanita. For the second Mini Sprint main event in a row, there were no yellow flags, and Chad’s time of 5:08:44, broke the 20-Lap track record which was set back in 1997. Chad broke the 25-Lap record on April 29th, with a time 6:30:07.
