Chad Boat Selected 2008 USAC National Rookie of the Year |
Coming off a season in which he became the youngest driver in the 65 year history of USAC to win a national dirt sprint car race, Chad Boat has been selected Rookie-of-the-Year in both the national sprint car and national midget divisions. Chad joins Darrin Hagen and Ricky Stenhouse as the only drivers to win both titles. “My goal coming into the 2008 season was to win Rookie-of-the-year in both divisions, so I feel good about that accomplishment, “ Chad said at the recent Performance Racing trade show. “Next year we will be looking to win the championship in both divisions, so we will have to step up our game in terms of finishing and winning races and running in the front each race. The competitors in USAC are the toughest in the nation, and I feel after having a year of racing and running all the tracks I can compete for the championship.” Chad and the team are currently preparing midget entries for the inaugural race indoors at the Kemper Arena, then the 2009 season kicks off with the annual Chili Bowl Nationals January 11-17 in Tulsa, Oklahama. The 2009 midget and sprint car season will consist of nearly 90 races covering 10 states across the nation. Chad in Victory lane at Hagerstown
